How AI Credits are used
AI Credits are Proset's single measure of the AI work your plan pays for. Both parts of the workflow draw from the same monthly pool:
- Transcribing a recording costs a small number of credits per second of audio. Longer recordings cost more.
- Turning a transcript into an artifact (a summary, an email, a plan, a research draft) costs the credits the AI model actually uses to read the transcript and write the artifact. Longer transcripts and longer artifacts cost more.
Because both draw from the same allowance, a month spent mostly recording holds fewer artifact conversions, and a month spent making many artifacts from each recording holds fewer hours of new audio. The AI Credits used this month line in Settings shows where you are, and the AI Credit Packs option there lets a Pro subscriber top up mid-month.
The specific credit cost of any single action can change as the AI models Proset uses improve. Your plan's monthly total does not change as a result — the 10,000 / 50,000 / 200,000 figures above are what your plan includes.
Using Proset as a voice recorder without spending credits
Recording, saving, playing back, downloading, and sharing audio do not spend AI Credits. Credits are only spent when the AI runs — transcribing a recording or turning a transcript into an artifact. So if you use Proset only to capture voice notes and then download or forward the audio, your monthly credit allowance stays untouched.
Two limits still apply either way:
- Recording length per take (3 / 15 / 30 minutes). This is the maximum length of a single continuous recording; save it, then start another for a longer session.
- Cloud storage (0 / 2 / 5 GB, plus optional add-ons on Pro). Free accounts have no cloud storage, so recordings stay on the device they were made on. Base and Pro accounts get Cloud Sync, so recordings follow you across devices up to the storage cap.
